Top horses claim thrilling victories in season-ending races

Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club in Sakhir held the final races of the 2018-2019 season, in the presence of HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa, the club’s High Committee Chairman, and HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the club’s High Committee Deputy Chairman.

Up for grabs in the meeting were the HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup; HH Shaikh Abdulla's sons’ cups namely the Shaikh Hamad bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup, the Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa; as well as the Zaid bin Theeb Al Kobra Group Industry and Trace Cup, the Owners Cup, and the Al Roudha Cup.

There was plenty of action and thrilling competition on the day, especially in the concluding event for the HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa Cup. The race featured imported horses, and it was won by Vale Dol Sol, owned by Victorious Stables and ridden by Hussain Makki.

Meanwhile, Milyar, owned by HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and ridden by Andrew Elliott, proved its mettle by winning one of the biggest events of the season in the Owners Cup. Milyar previously also won both the King’s Cup and Crown Prince’s Cup earlier this year.

Following all the races, HH Shaikh Abdulla bin Isa presented his cup to Abdulla Fawzi Nass, while HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman presented the Owners Cup to HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla.

They also honored trainer Alan Smith and Gerald Mosse with prizes for topping the trainers’ and jockeys’ rankings to end the 2018-2019 season.

Furthermore, HH Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla presented his cup to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, while HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla presented his cup to Nass.

Shaikh Salman bin Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Executive Director of Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, presented the Al Roudha Cup to HH Shaikh Khalid bin Ali.

Finally, Zaid bin Theeb Al Kobra Al Dossary, Head of Zaid bin Theeb Al Kobra Group Industry and Trace, presented his cup to winning trainer Osama Hashim.
